Who Am I?

Last week on Toastmasters Motivators, our theme was “Who Am I”, in which we dug deeper into ourselves and questioned whether we know ourselves for real, or not. Lia was the TOM and she read a poem titled “Who Am I”. She also asked 15 questions to the audience. Here are some of them: 1. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things? 2. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich? 3. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back? 4. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of? When will  you address it? Now or never? 5. How patient are you? Do you push the elevator button more than once?  Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster? 6. If not now, then when? 7. If you haven’t achieved it yet, what do you have to lose? 8. What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world? 9. Decisions are being made right now.  The question is

The Embarrassing Moment

In April, we talk about the most memorable moments in our life. At the start of the month, we talked about “The Most Unforgettable Moments”. Last week, we talked about The Most Embarrassing Moments”. Ratih, one of our new members, tried being a Table Topic Master for the first time, providing questions for not only 5 speakers, 8 speakers, but 11 speakers in total! The Table Topic Speakers shared about their most embarrassing moments in life, garnering laughter from the audience. They spoke about their most embarassing moments in childhood, high school, work, and etc. For example, Christina told us about accidentally using her Javanese accent in saying “BBM”. It made her co-workers kept teasing her until now. Favorite Table Topic Speakers: Iyok and Tama. At the end of the Table Topic, we all felt we know the speakers better, thanks to Ratih in her TTM debut.
