Last week was Mots last formal meeting of 2014! We shared our impressions of 2014, and our resolutions of 2015. Toastmasters of the Meeting Bambang asked our members’ resolutions privately prior to the meeting. They want to lose weight, travel more, get more successful in career, and get married! Rizky delivered his BM2, telling about the wishes he fulfilled and more wishes for his future. He has his own restaurant in his hometown now, has improved in his career, had a great time in his company’s workshop in Singapore, and has his own car after lots of hard work. His wishes or resolutions for the future are to have his own house and…..finding that one true love to change his status in his ID card. From “single” to “married”. We wish all the best for Rizky! Last week we had Motzx! It’s inspired by the famous TEDx, and the theme was “Ideas Worth Sharing: The Future of Indonesia”. Motzx has no grand room decorations or costumes. We focused only on the quality of the speeches and the evaluators. And wow, it’s a fabulous night indeed! Ideal vehicles for Jakarta The first speaker was Satriyo. In his speech, he elaborated about his dream vehicles that could overcome the intense traffic jam of Jakarta. We are stuck in wanting to own glamorous cars and SUVs, eating up the space in our roads. Using gas, designed sleek, and with slim frame, it could reduce the traffic jam significantly. He hoped that in the future, automobile industry would realize this, to make his wish of traffic jam free - pollution free Jakarta a reality.  "Make your own

TTM Elizabeth then gave challenging questions to the audience, both men and women. Bambang delivered his BM2 speech, titled “Mirroring”. He told about mirroring someone’s behavior when we like them. When he started courting his girlfriend, he started following her habits, conscious or not. Once they got closer, she started to follow his habits too. This is a very effective way in trying to get close to someone. Bambang’s appearance is very serious, but he is secretly very funny. We all laughed at his simple jokes, which were always surprising, coming from him. Bryan won as Favorite Prepared Speaker Bryan Gunawan from Metropolitan Toastmasters Club visited our club to deliver his BM6. He told about his wish of being an actor, and his father’s insistence in permitting it, advis

Karaoke Night!

Jakarta Motivators Toastmasters Motivators had a karaoke themed meeting last week, on Wednesday 26, 2014. There are many ways to have a blast, especially with your friends, and pouring your hearts out, singing to your lungs’ limit, might be the best one. Immediate Past President Prawira took the stage as Toastmasters of the Meeting. You would have thought he’d sing to open the meeting, but it’s a twist! He gave interesting trivia about karaoke. For example, karaoke first began in Japan, and was usually used solely between business colleagues. The junior employees would often entertain the more senior ones by singing, and some even learn singing from professional trainers to be able to perform well in karaoke! So, karaoke was a serious business when it started, and gradually turned to be more relaxed fun through the years. President Lia was the Table Topics Master! The example of her questions were: “You are a contestant of Indonesian Idol. What will you say t
