Your Job is Not Your Career

Image
Our theme last week was “Your Job is Not Your Career”. Referring to everybody who doesn’t feel happy with your current job and feeling of getting a better one. There’s of course always another way: try to love your current job. Immediate Past President Praw was the TOM, and he showed a good set of slides about job vs career. A job is a paid position of regular employment, while a career means an occupation undertaken for a significant period of a person's life and with opportunities for progress. Which one is the one you’re doing right now, a job or a career? Puspita delivered her BM5, recounting her experience using the social network “Tinder”. As a single lady, it’s normal for her to seek a partner. Her friend recommended her to use Tinder application to try searching for that special “The One”. For example: “Have you experienced one-sided love?” “Which one is you in love, passive or aggressive?” “Does age difference matter in love?” The questions created strong reactions. As in: lots of laughter, embarrassment, and shocking statements. We had Nita who delivered her BM3 titled “Love Life”. At first we all thought she’s going to tell about her love life. But apparently, she said we should love our lives, so life will love us back. She told us about visiting the Badui tribe two weeks ago.  They lead a fascinating traditional life of the tribe, who lives without technology like hundreds of years ago. They could live in harmony with nature and have a peaceful life without smartphones or TV, but they are happy and lov
