Love is Blind
Do you agree that “Love is Blind”?
If yes, why? If not, why?
That was our theme last week, as
the last week of the month of Love, February.
The TTM, Lia, called many of the
members to come to the front and speak about short topics. For example:
“Have you experienced one-sided
love?”
“Which one is you in love,
passive or aggressive?”
“Does age difference matter in
love?”
The questions created strong
reactions. As in: lots of laughter, embarrassment, and shocking statements.
We had Nita who delivered her BM3
titled “Love Life”. At first we all thought she’s going to tell about her love
life. But apparently, she said we should love our lives, so life will love us
back. She told us about visiting the Badui tribe two weeks ago. They lead a fascinating traditional life of
the tribe, who lives without technology like hundreds of years ago.
They could live in harmony with
nature and have a peaceful life without smartphones or TV, but they are happy
and love their village very much. If we all could live so simply, it would be
great. Nita was energized with this journey and felt a lot happier. Travelling
is indeed one of the best ways to color our days!
Our second speaker was imported
from Diebold Toastmasters Club. Her name is Fitri, and her title was “Thank You
Mama”. It’s a very touching speech about mother’s love. Without realizing,
perhaps we feel annoyed with our mothers, but actually, she is always thinking
about us, loving us without any condition. We are always their number one
priority. The speech made us all think about our members. Let us show our love
more to them.
Our third speaker was Ratih, who
delivered her BM7. Research Your Topic. She spoke about Decision Making
Analysis, using research method. The example that she gave made us able to
relate well. It was of a guy “Anwar” who is researching for the best wife.
Although her topic was serious, we could enjoy her speech because of the good
example. The result: we understand it well. It’s a good job to convey a
complicated matter in a fun way.
