Beautiful Thailand

We discussed about Thailand last week, the only South East Asian Country that had never been occupied by another country. That fact alone deserved to be appreciated. But Thailand had more than that to be admired upon.  The country is beautiful, both in landscape and culture.
Kelvin, our TOM for the night, showed us beautiful pictures of Thailand, with many funfacts about the country.

Thailand is called the country of 1000 pagodas, with many scenic places to visit. It is the most visited country in 2012.

Kelvin’s slides and narration really made us want to go to Thailand.

The first speech was from Afdal, the Immediate Past President of BOA. He delivered his Advance Manual about conquering a Cold Call. Persuading a potential and skeptical client through a phone call, promoting and also surviving the dialogue. He really gave us knowledge on how to approach a not so approachable person, especially while marketing a product.

Lia delivered his BM9, persuading the audience to write a diary. When she was a child, she avoided people and could not express her feelings well. So her mother bought her a diary and asked her to be honest and pour out all her feelings. That really helped her to be more open hearted and open minded.

By writing a diary, you can clear your mind when you have a problem. You’ll see that after writing it, your problem is actually not impossible to solve. You can also learn from the past if you write a diary. Remind yourself the best parts of your past, take lessons from it, and not repeating the same mistakes. You can also get a good advice from yourself. Sometimes when you write a diary, you’ll write solutions too. That’s important.

Also, life can pass by so fast. By writing a diary, you’re making a history of your own life, remembering all the little or big events in your days. Everyday is precious. So honor your life by writing it.

Ikuyo, a member of Motivators also the president of British Toastmasters Club, delivered an Advance Manual about telling a bad news, but also the solution for that. She became the director of a factory in Bogor. Because of a disaster, she had to tell a bad news, but she offered a solution, providing dorms for her employees and also better incentive.

Ikuyo-san, can we work in your factory? ^_____^

She made us all believe that factory workers in her factory will be we well taken care of.

Praw was the Table Topic Master, giving interesting questions.

Such as, what if you lost your brother in Thailand, and you found out that he has turned to be a “ladyboy”?

What if you found your 15 year old son drinking in a club at Bangkok?
Everyone was entertained by the table topic session!

We had an awesome meeting delving about Thailand!

Tonight, it will be our “Halloween Meeting”! And beware, the theme is “Haunted House”!
Are you brave enough to attend?
