Father's Day
To commemorate Father’s day that was inaugurated on
12th of November in Indonesia, Jakarta Motivators Toastmasters Club held
regular meeting on November 18th with Father’s Day as the theme and Persistent as Word of The Day. Our
last week’s main roles were TM Agi as
Toastmasters of The Meeting, TM Rizko
as The Table Topic Master and
TM Lia as General Evaluator.
Agi as Toastmasters of The Meeting |
Rizko as Table Topics Master |
TM Rizko was a perfect TTM for that evening’s meeting since he is a father
and knowing well of how it feels to be a father. No wonder the topic he spoke
for each Table Topic’s speakers were closely related to father’s role,
including the most memorable memories of the speakers with their fathers and
the value their fathers shared with them that made them a better person
nowadays. All of the audiences had the opportunity to remembere the sweet
memories they share with a person that is often called as the
first hero of our life.
As the table topic session ended, there were two prepared speakers who delivered their speeches. TM Yoga was the first speaker who delivered his
BM7 project. Because of the meeting room’s electricity was on trouble, TM Yoga
could not use the projector to support his presentation. To cope with the
situation, he delivered his project as impromptu speech. What an amazing
speech, especially for those who saw TM Yoga delivered his speech without any
preparation but his knowledge and research that was conducted by him several
days before the speech. The jargon of Jakarta Motivators Toastmasters Club “We
Are Family” indeed made him feels that he spoke in front of his family,
therefore we couldn’t see any nervousness on his impromptu speech.
Risman delivering his BM9 |
The second prepared speaker was TM Risman who delivered his BM9
entitled (Re) Packaging. He told the members the importance of packaging for
our life. He believed this importance because his father told him that life is
a competition, thus people should always be ready to compete
with other people. So rather than giving reasons of why we
failed, it would be better to emphasize our positive size. With this method, he
said, his friend was accepted in Harvard Business School with average GPA but
with several campus activities. In conclusion, because life is competition, he
said that we still have time to improve our life and show it to the world
through our packaging.
At the end of the meeting, because we still had time, there were several members who delivered their jokes and made the meeting as
a memorable meeting.
