Recap Meeting September 1st, 2021: Self-Mastery

  "No man is free who is not master of himself." - Epictetus Do you have control of yourself? Tonight in Jakarta Motivator Toastmasters club, we are going to discuss about self-mastery. What is self-mastery? We believe self-mastery is an ability to control our desire or impulsive. It will be the ultimate test to find our character. So we hope in this meeting, for more less two hours, all motivators can try to mastery themselves and control to stay positive in tis group. Okay, without any further do, let's start to know what happened in this meeting! The meeting was opened by Mr. President, TM Hans. TM Hans explain what a toastmasters is and the agenda in general. Ir. Soekarno Happy Independence Day to Indonesia! 76th years old is mere numbers in tandem without showcasing the nation utmost tour de force; in terms of human and natural resources. It takes endurance and resilience to attain Independence in its truest essence, which resulted in greater prosperity of its citizen. Recap Meeting July 21st. 2021: Reminisce Childhood Memories

  "The best way to make children good is to make them happy" - Oscar Wilde- What do your childhood memories bring in remembrance? Do they remind you of certain stage in life? Let's reminisce those childhood memories with us! This is the second regular online meeting with the new executive committees. This meeting was opened with PlayStation 1 startup sound as accompaniment of prolog from club president. What a way to reminisce childhood memories! After prolog and introduction, we moved into a special agenda: New Member Installation. At this moment, we installed TM Sandra Clarisa as our new member. Later in this meeting, she would also deliver her ice breaker speech. After this installation, the control was handed over to Toastmasters of the Meeting (TOM), TM Redika. You are sure about its importance, but you are not excited anymore. You can reignite the spark! In this first week of July 2021, Jakarta Motivator Toastmasters Club had the first regular online meeting with the new executive committees. Yeah, we tried to reignite the spark! The meeting was opened by the new president, TM Hansel. Although he had some trouble connection issues, he tried to welcome our guests and visit toastmaster members before handing it to our Toastmasters of the Meeting (TOM), TM Melisa. Recap Meeting 19 Sep Making Peace Through Music

One of the difference between Jakarta Motivator Toastmaster (Motz) with other clubs is we have a lot of hidden talents, one of them is a Game Master. Led by TM Prawira. So in the last meeting, beside conducted the regular meeting we also had a game related to the theme. The audience should guess the title and the singer's name .  The meeting was led by one of our senior member TM Imam, evaluated by visiting TM Eric (Metropolitan TM) and supported by TM Tiknur as the TTM. There are two prepared speakers who shared the difference between American & British accent and The importance of networking, TM Agi & TM Mike respectively.

Recap Meeting 12 Sep: Be A Role Model!

One of benefits by joining Toastmaster is having a mentor who supports your development. Last Wed an Experienced Mentor TM Prawira shared an edu speech "WHAT MAKE A GOOD MENTOR". His speech related to our theme, which was Be a Role Model. The meeting was led by our first timer TOM, TM Agi, well done! Supported by TTM, TM Lies who delivered  a good topic for an impromptu speech. The meeting was evaluated by our GE, TM Bahtiar and his team. Our GE was a true baker since he roasted all the people in the meeting :D Hereby The Recap meeting of Jakarta Motivator Toastmaster. In conclusion of our meeting, we call an action to all audience to strive to be a good role model for a better Indonesia.

Tips For A Leaders at Toastmasters

Leaders are not born, are created. Leaders help themselves and others to do the right things. They set direction, build an inspiring vision, and create something new. Leadership is about mapping out where you need to go to "win" as a team or an organization; and it is dynamic, exciting, and inspiring. Tips for a leaders at Toastmasters : Plan Ahead. Those who fail to plan, plan to  fail. Set Realistic Goals. Don't overburden your club members, focus on the Distinguished Club Program goals and most everything else falls into place. Communicate Early and Often. Don't let problen linger. Adress them in a possitive manner to resolve them. Be a Leader. Your job is to help your club's members and fellow club officers achieve their education goals in Toastmasters.

How did you kick off your April? Did you get fooled, or did you make a prank to your friends or family? April Fool's Day,  it is a western tradition to celebrate the beginning of April to make a prank to others. This tradition was brought up as the topic of last Wednesday Jakarta Motivator Toastmaster's meeting. TM Tika as the Toastmaster of the Meeting (ToM), splendidly prepared the meeting. She started with the introduction of April Fool's day history. Long ago, western people followed the Gregorian calendar, were the new year was begin in April. Then as the regime change, Julian calendar was introduced, where January is the start of the day. Yet, not everyone knows about the switching of the calendar. So, some people still celebrating the new year on the 1st of April. At that time, those who still mistaken April as the new year were considered as the fool. And the tradition of April Fools begin. Our meeting this  week was conduct at 31 May, 2017. Themed: Living in Diversity. The Word of the Day was Conform. This theme was chosen because many Toastmasters members in Jakarta .......... The Toastmasters of the Meeting was TM Lia. Generle Evaluator was TM. Septi and the timer was TM Mega. Gramarian was TM. Sindy, ah counter was TM. Ihsan and the Ballot Counter was TM. Imam.   The Table Topics Master was TM Lia, who gave questions related  Living in Diversity in Indonesia. 1.   We have three prepared speakers. First was  TM Lia,  Advance Manual #5 with the title was The Abstractn Concept. Her speech was evaluated by TM. Mega.  Second was TM Imam, Basic Manual #9 with the title was.... Keep Calm and Get a Scholarship

Our meeting last week was themed: Keep Calm and Get a Scholarship. The Word of the Day was Triumph. This theme was chosen because many Toastmasters members in Jakarta are interested to study abroad, so our club is trying to facilitate a useful meeting for them. The Toastmasters of the Meeting was TM Puspita, who just received a scholarship to study in Sweden. She explained about several foreign countries that offer scholarship to Indonesians, such as Sweden, The U.K, USA, Japan, Netherlands, and etc. The Table Topics Master was TM Lia, who gave questions related to scholarship, which were: 1.        Why do you deserve a scholarship? 2.        What if you are faced with an intimidating interviewer for scholarship application? 3.        If your child in the future wants to go abroad, will you fund him/her on your own, or will you ask them to get a scholarship? 4.   ...

Turn Back Jokes!

Last week, Jakarta Motivators Toastmasters Club meeting theme was “Turn Back Jokes”. It was really a special meeting. The Toastmasters of the meeting was our SAA, TM Yoga, and the Table Topics Master was Club President Erwin. He asked questions related about jokes. Next, Lia delivered a redo of her BM7, titled “Get Slimmer by Eating”. She is always interested in searching diet tips that fit her. And the tips that she found is so fun, because it doesn’t ask you to reduce eating, but to eat more. Based on the researches by Tokyo University and  New York University, there are some food that if you eat more, it will help you burn more calories and fat, and lose weight. First, it’s water. Plain water, not ice water. The more you drink water, the more weight you will lose.  Next, there are staple food substitutes, black beans and oats. Exchange your rice with beans or oats a few times a week, and you will lose weight, because they have less sugar in every portion. ...

To commemorate Father’s day that was inaugurated on 12th of November in Indonesia, Jakarta Motivators Toastmasters Club held regular meeting on November 18th with Father’s D ay as the theme and Persistent as Word of The Day . Our last week ’s main role s were TM Agi as Toastmasters of The Meeting, TM Rizk o as The Table Topic Master and TM Lia as General Evaluator. Agi as Toastmasters of The Meeting Rizko as Table Topics Master TM Rizko was a perfect TTM for that evening’s meeting since he is a father and knowing well of how it feels to be a father. No wonder the topic he spoke for each Table Topic’s speakers were closely related to father’s role, including the most memorable memories of the speakers with their fathers and the value their fathers shared with them that made them a better person nowadays.
